BELOW IS LAMBDA MOTORCYCLE TRAINING’S CBT AND FULL LICENCE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

CBT course terms and conditions:
Trainee: the person attending the course.
Fee payer: the person paying for the course
Lambda Motorcycle Training: the training provider
Course: the arranged time spent at Lambda Motorcycle Training
Course fee: the full amount paid to Lambda Motorcycle Training by the fee payer for a course.
DVSA: Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency

The trainee or fee payer must agree to the following terms and conditions upon paying the course fee.a. By deciding to go ahead with a CBT course, the full course fee must be received by Lambda Motorcycle Training before or on the payment date if stated in the above information.b. The trainee’s CBT course is available solely to them (non-tranaferable) up to the payment date stated above and confirmed only when the full course fee is received.c. The full CBT course fee is non refundable, no matter the reason, whether it be in or out of the fee payer’s or trainee’s control. The trainee must be able to attend the CBT course on the date and start time stated above. The CBT course fee and day will be lost through non attendance or non arrival before the stated start time.d. Lambda Motorcycle Training may cancel the CBT course in advance of the event. In this case, the course fee (£160 per person) will not be lost but used by the trainee for an alternative CBT course date. Lambda Motorcycle Training will solely decide whether to cancel a CBT course. This may occur but not limited to extreme weather conditions i.e. snow, ice, flooding, high winds/ temperature or for an unforeseen problem with the training site.i. Lambda Motorcycle Training will not be liable for any costs incurred by the fee payer or the trainee if the proposed training day is cancelled. Incurred costs include but are not exclusive to taxi, bus or train fare, petrol costs and any time costs incurred by the fee payer or trainee to arrange travel time to the CBT site location.e. Lambda Motorcycle Training will mutually arrange with the trainee an alternative available CBT course day if it has been cancelled.

f. The trainee must have a minimum eyesight standard with or without sight glasses. This standard is to read a vehicle licence plate from at least 20 metres. If this standard cannot be met by the trainee, their course day and course fee will be lost.
g. The trainee must be in posession of a DVLA issued licence on the course date or their course day and course fee will be lost.h. the trainees course duration is determined by the instructor who monitors the trainees ability and actions during the course day (see the information in the following paragraphs.)i. there is a maximum of 4 trainees to 1 instructor in the off road practice part of the course. ‘The trainee must understand that the instructor’s time may therefore be divided by a maximum of 4.The government’s official CBT course guidelines are found online and there’s a link on our website.j. the trainees course will be stopped at any time by Lambda Motorcycle Training and no refund or no part refund given if a trainee:
i. who is providing their own bike has motorcycle or moped which doesnt have the following criteria.
  • A maximum engine size of 125cc
  • Display L plates both front and rear
  • Have a road worthy condition
  • Current MOT certificate
  • Current road tax
  • Valid insurance
ii. does not meet the minimum DVSA eyesight standard. The eyesight of a trainee must reach the minimum standard and be able to read a registration plate from 20.5 metres.

iii. makes little or no progress during the course and cannot ride a motorcycle or moped through the efforts of the qualified instructor and of the trainee. The course structure is such that progression through the course is constantly monitored. If the progress of a trainee is absorbing the instructors time at the detriment of the other trainee(s), then a one to one session will be needed by the less able trainee and arranged at extra cost to the fee payer or trainee in question.iv. does not reach the standard during the arranged course. A CBT certificate is issued only when the required standard is reached and more than one course may be needed at extra cost to the fee payer or trainee.v. through their actions demonstrate in any way that they are endangering the safety of themselves or others during the course. The course instructor will determine whether the trainee is presenting a current or future risk to themselves or others during the course, this may be either whilst riding a motorcycle or moped or other non riding behaviour.vi. does not have sufficient balance to ride a motorcycle or moped on the course day. It is the responsibility of the trainee to have sufficient balance to ride a two wheeled vehicle before attending the course. It is not the responsibilty of Lambda Motorcycle Training to teach basic balance during the course. If the trainee demonstrates insufficient balance to ride safely, then the trainee will be deemed as unsafe to themselves and others and their course will be stopped.

vii. conducts themselves in an agressive manner during the course. A trainee who is verbally or physically abusive to others on the site will forfeit their course and course fee and will be told to leave the training site.viii. has not disclosed before or during the course information regarding a medical condition which affects their mental or physical ability to use a moped/motorcycle. The instructor must be informed about any detrimental mental or physical conditions before the course day. The trainee must have a good standard of mental and physical ability to learn and retain course information and to ride such a machine.
ix. shows signs of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The trainee’s course will be STOPPED in this event and they will be told to leave the training site.x. causes malicious or purposeful damage or loss to any safety equipment and/or a motorcycle/moped hired to them or to another trainee. It is the responsibilty of the trainee to take reasonable care of the safety equipment and motorcycle/moped hired to them. All safety equipment and motorcycle/moped hired to them is the property of Lambda Motorcycle Training and must be returned in the condition it was when hired to them. If damage or loss occurs, the trainee responsible will be charged for the item(s) at the current market value.
xi. is unable to communicate effectively with the instructor and staff by understanding and speaking English.
j. If a trainee loses or damages Lambda Motorcycle Training’s radio equipment the radio equipment in question must be replaced by the trainee with new identical equipment or equivalent new value.
k. Any speeding fines, bus lane fines and parking fines incurred by the trainee during the course must be paid for by the trainee in question.
Full licence terms and conditions:

A. The course payments must be received before the payment dates stated above in order to proceed with the course.
Ai. £160 deposit is non refundable and secures your practical tests/ initial training. The deposit will be lost if the course is not started on day 1.
B. The trainee to which the email is addressed is the only person allowed to attend the motorcycle course. The course cannot be transfered to a third party.
C. The course fee, course day and test fee will be lost through non attendance at stated start time and date.
D. Lambda Motorcycle Training may cancel a course for the stated day. This may occur due to extreme weather conditions i.e. snow, ice, flooding, high winds or for any unforeseeable reason i.e. a DVSA test cancellation or instructor/ examiner illness. The course fee in this situation will not be lost but can used by the trainee for an alternative training day. There is NO monetary refund for this day. Lambda Motorcycle Training will solely decide whether to cancel a training course for an unforeseen event.
D.i. The trainee must have each valid document for training and test i.e a document not exceeding its expiry date and not a photocopy. Each document must be checked by the trainee or fee payer before the start of the course to make sure it is valid. A document which is not valid at the start of the course will invalidate the course. Lambda Motorcycle Training will hold no responsibility for an invalid document.
E. The module 1 test must be passed before the module 2 test. The DVSA have particular rules which must be adhered to
i.Module 1 and 2 practical tests are subject to the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) availability. Test times are determined by the DVSA and not by Lambda Motorcycle Training. Therefore, early morning module 1 and 2 tests that will reduce the amount of training time possible on test day are not subject to any monetary refund or part refund for a reduction in training time.
ii. Module 1 and 2 practical tests are subject to DVSA cancellation for reasons that the DVSA give. Lambda Motorcycle Training is not responsible and have no control over tests that the DVSA have decided to cancel.
F. Trainees are contacted by email or telephone about the trainees test date(s) and times schedule, these dates and times are accepted by the trainee once payment is made.Test fees are non refundable once the deposit or full course price is paid.
Lambda Motorcycle Training can however solely decide to re-scheduled a test with at least 3 clear days notice prior to the test date (excluding Sunday and Bank holidays.) This may happen due to but not limited to a trainees lack of progress, instructor illness, severe weather conditions or a trainees incorrect documents for test.
Example 1: test to be conducted on a Friday must be cancelled by the previous Monday. Therefore the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the 3 clear days.
Example 2: test to be conducted on a Tuesday after an Easter bank holiday weekend with Good Friday and Easter Monday as bank holidays. This test must be cancelled on the previous Tuesday. Therefore the previous Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday are the 3 clear days.
i. If a trainees module 1 test is unsuccessful and the scheduled module 2 test is three whole days away, the module 2 can be re-scheduled without losing the test fee.
ii. If a trainees module 1 test is unsuccessful and the scheduled module 2 test date is less than three whole days away, the module 2 test fee will be lost.
iii. Re-test fees are paid on top of the original course fee and will be paid for by the trainee or fee payer if the trainee has an unsuccessful or unattended test.
iv. Unused training day(s) can be carried forward (up to 1 month after such day) in the event of an unsuccessful module 1 and used by the attendee for further training but cannot be refunded.
v. The trainee must have the correct documents with them on all test days and are solely responsible for their own documents safe keeping. Lambda Motorcycle Training will not be responsible for trainees documents.

Once payment is made, the trainee (the person taking the training course) must agree to the following terms and conditions.
G. The person attending the training course (trainee) is entitled to a motorcycle/moped course on the agreed day for a duration which is determined by the trainee’s ability and their actions (see the information in the following paragraphs.)
H. The trainee’s course may be stopped at any time by Lambda Motorcycle Training’s staff or instructors and a refund or part refund will NOT be given for the following reasons;
If a trainee:
I. cannot ride a motorcycle/moped even through the efforts of the qualified instructor(s) and the effort of the trainee. The training course structure is such that progression through the course is constantly monitored by the instructor. If a trainee’s progress is absorbing the instructors time at the detriment of other participating trainee’s then a one to one session will be needed and arranged at extra cost to the under performing trainee.
ii. demonstrates in any way that they are comproming their own safety and/or the safety of others during the course. The training course instructor will determine whether the trainee is presenting a current or future risk to themselves or others during the course either whilst riding a motorcycle/moped or otherwise.
iii. does not have sufficient balance to ride a motorcycle/moped on the course day. It is not the responsibility of Lambda Motorcycle Training’s instructors or staff to ensure that the trainee has sufficient balance before or during the training course. If in the view if the instructors or staff an trainee demonstrates insufficient balance to safely ride a motorcycle/moped, the trainee will be deemed as unsafe to themselves and others and their course will be stopped.
iv. conducts themselves in an agressive manner during the course. A trainee who is verbally or physically abusive to others will have their course stopped and will be asked to leave.
v. has not disclosed before the course information of any medical condition which could affect their mental or physical ability to ride a moped/motorcycle. A trainee must show an ability to learn and retain course information and to physically ride a moped/motorcycle. This is essential and the instructor must be informed about any detrimental health conditions before the course day.
vi. shows signs of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. A trainee will have their course STOPPED in this event and they will be asked to leave the course.
vii. causes malicious or purposeful damage or loss to any safety equipment and/or a motorcycle/moped hired to them or to hired to another trainee. The offending trainee will be charged for any damage or loss to equipment and motorcycle/moped at the value of new parts and new equipment. It is the responsibilty of a trainee to take care of the safety equipment and motorcycle/moped hired to them. All safety equipment (clothing and helmet) and motorcycle/moped hired to the trainee is the property of Lambda Motorcycle Training and must be returned in the condition it was when hired to them.
viii. Loses or damages Lambda Motorcycle Training’s radio equipment. The radio equipment must be replaced with new same quality items if lost or damaged by the trainee.
J. is unable to communicate effectively with the instructor and staff by fully understanding and speaking fluent English.
