Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)

Motorcyle theory test

Motorcycle tests

 

 

Documents for test:  The trainee is responsible for their own documents for test and being able to meet the eyesight requirement.

 

They MUST have the following documents available for their test. The documents MUST be originals and NOT photo or carbon copies.

 

*Driving licence

*Theory test certificate

*CBT certificate

* Module 1 certificate (if test has been passed)

 

Eyesight Standard:

 

The trainee MUST reach the minimum eyesight standard and must be able to read a registration plate from 20.5 metres ( with sight glasses if they're required to meet the standard.) The trainee is responsible for their eyesight and must remember their sight glasses if required to meet the standard for the training and tests. The training and tests will be cancelled if the trainee fails to meet the required minimum standard. No refund or compensation will be given if the eyesight standard is not met by the trainee on the training and day.

 

Full Licence Terms and Conditions

 

Please read the terms and conditions carefully before making payment. The attendee/person taking part/customer/fee payer will agree to the terms and conditions upon making payment.

 

 

Terms and conditions:

 

A. The full course fee must be received before the payment date in order to proceed with the course. 

 

B. The customer's course date is available solely to them and is non-tranaferable to another customer.

 

C. The course fee and day will be lost through non attendance at stated start time and date.

 

D. Lambda Motorcycle Training may cancel the course for the stated day. In this event, the course fee will not be lost but can used by the customer for an alternative training day. Lambda Motorcycle Training will solely decide whether to cancel a training course. This may happen due to extreme weather conditions i.e. snow, ice or flooding, high winds or for any other unforeseeable problem.

 

E. Module 1 test must be passed before module 2. Module 1 tests are afternoons only and module 2 tests are mornings only in Swindon.

 

i.Module 1 and 2 practical tests are subject to Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) availabity and the test times are not determined by Lambda Motorcycle Training. Therefore, module 1 and 2 tests that have an early start time on test day are not subject to any training time or monetary refund or part refund.

 

ii. Module 1 and 2 practical tests are subject to DVSA cancellation for reasons that they will give. Lambda Motorcycle Training is not responsible and have no control over tests that the DVSA decide to cancel. 

 

F. Test fees are non refundable once the course price is paid, but tests can be re-scheduled with at least 3 clear days notice prior to the test date (excluding Sunday and Bank holidays.)

 
i. If your module 1 test is unsuccessful and your module 2 test is three whole days away, the module 2 can be re-scheduled without losing the test fee.

 

ii. If your module 1 test is unsuccessful and your module 2 test date is less than three whole days away, you will lose your module 2 test fee.

 
iii. Re-test fees are not included in the course fee and will be paid for by the customer if the trainee has an unsuccessful or unattended test.

 

iv. Unused training day(s) can be carried forward in the event of an unsuccessful module 1 and used by the attendee for further training but cannot be refunded.

 

v. The attendee must have the correct documents with them on all test days and are solely responsible for their own documents safe keeping. Lambda Motorcycle Training will not be responsible for trainees documents.

 

 

After a training course is confirmed through payment, the attendee (the person taking the training course) must agree to the following terms and conditions.

 

G. The person attending the training course (attendee) is entitled to a motorcycle/moped course on the agreed day for a duration which is determined by the attendees ability and their actions (see the information in the following paragraphs.)

 

H. The attendees course may be stopped at any time by Lambda Motorcycle Training's staff or instructors and a refund or part refund will not be given for the following reasons;

 

If an attendee:

 

I. genuinely cannot ride a motorcycle/moped even through the efforts of the qualified instructor(s) and the effort of the attendee. The training course structure is such that progression through the course is constantly monitored by the instructor. If an attendees progress is absorbing the instructors time at the detriment of the other attendees then a one to one session may be needed and arranged at extra cost to the attendee. 

 

ii. demonstrates in any way that they are comproming their own safety and/or the safety of others during the course. The training course instructor will determine whether the attendee is presenting a current or future risk to themselves or others during the course either whilst riding a motorcycle/moped or otherwise.

 

iii. does not have sufficient balance to ride a motorcycle/moped on the course day. It is not the responsibility of  Lambda Motorcycle Training's instructors or staff to ensure that the attendee has sufficient balance before or during the training course. If in the view if the instructors or staff an attendee demonstrates insufficient balance to safely ride a motorcycle/moped, the attendee will be deemed as unsafe to themselves and others and their course will be stopped.

 

iv. conducts themselves in an agressive manner during the course. Attendees who are verbally or physically abusive to attendees, instructors or staff will have their course stopped and will be asked to leave.

 

v. has not disclosed before the course information of any medical condition which could affect their mental or physical ability to ride a moped/motorcycle. The attendees ability to learn and retain course information and to physically ride a moped/motorcycle is essential and the instructor must be informed about any detrimental health conditions before the course day. 

 

vi. shows signs of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The attendee's course will be STOPPED in this event and they will be asked to leave the course.

 

vii. causes malicious or purposeful damage or loss to any safety equipment and/or a motorcycle/moped hired to them or to hired to another course attendee. An attendee will be charged for any damage or loss to equipment and motorcycle/moped at the current market value. It is the responsibilty of the attendee to take reasonable care of the safety equipment and motorcycle/moped hired to them. All safety equipment (clothing and helmet) and motorcycle/moped hired to the attendee is the property of Lambda Motorcycle Training and must be returned in the condition it was when hired to them.

 

J.  is unable to communicate effectively with the instructor and staff by fully understanding English and speaking fluent English.

 

 

Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) Terms and Conditions

 

The attendee/person taking part/customer/fee payer must agree to the terms and conditions below before making payment. Upon payment you are agreeing to the terms and conditions.

 

 

Terms and conditions:

 

a. By deciding to go ahead with a CBT course, the full course fee must be received before the payment date stated. 

 

b. The customer's CBT course is available solely to them (non-tranaferable) up to the stated payment date and confirmed only when the full course fee is received.

 

c. The full CBT course fee is non refundable, no matter the reason, whether it be in or out of the customer's control. The customer must be able to attend the CBT course on the date and start time stated above otherwise the CBT course fee and day will be lost through non attendance or non arrival before the stated start time.

 

d. Lambda Motorcycle Training may cancel in advance the CBT course for the stated day. In this event, the course fee will not be lost but used by the customer for an alternative CBT course. Lambda Motorcycle Training will solely decide whether to cancel a CBT course. This may happen due to extreme weather conditions i.e. snow, ice or flooding, high winds or for an unforeseen problem with the training site.

 

i. Lambda Motorcycle Training will not be liable for any costs incurred by the customer if the proposed training day is cancelled. Any costs include but are not exclusive to taxi, bus or train fare, petrol costs and any time costs incurred by the customer to arrange travel time to the CBT site location.

 

e. Lambda Motorcycle Training will mutually arrange with the customer an alternative available CBT course day if it has been cancelled. 

 

Also, the CBT course attendee (the person taking the CBT course) must agree to the following terms and conditions before attending.

 

f. the person attending the CBT course (attendee) is entitled to a motorcycle/moped course on the agreed day for a duration which is determined by the instructor who monitors the attendees ability and action during the course (see the information in the following paragraphs.)

 

g. there is a maximum of 4 attendees to 1 instructor in the off road site part of the course. The instructor's time may therefore be divided to 4 attendees.The government's official CBT course guidelines are found online and there's a link on our website.

 

h. the attendees course may be stopped at any time by Lambda Motorcycle Training's staff or instructors and a refund or part refund will not be given if an attendee:

 

i. makes little or no progress during the course and genuinely cannot ride a motorcycle/moped even through the efforts of the qualified instructor and the efforts of the attendee. The CBT course structure is such that progression through the course is constantly monitored. If an attendees progress is absorbing the instructors time at the detriment of the other attendees then a one to one session may be needed and arranged at extra cost to the attendee. A CBT certificate is issued only when the required standard is reached. This may take more than one course and therefore more than one session at extra cost to the attendee.

 

ii. through their actions demonstrates in any way that they are comproming their own safety and/or the safety of others during the course. The CBT course instructor will determine whether the attendee is presenting a current or future risk to themselves or others during the course, this may be either whilst riding a motorcycle/moped or otherwise.

 

iii. does not have sufficient balance to ride a motorcycle/moped on the course day. It is not the responsibility of  Lambda Motorcycle Training's instructors or staff to ensure that the attendee has sufficient balance before or during the CBT course. They do not teach balance whilst the attendee rides the motorcycle/moped during the CBT course. If in the view if the instructors or staff an attendee demonstrates insufficient balance to safely ride a motorcycle/moped, the attendee will be deemed as unsafe to themselves and others and their course will be stopped.

 

iv. conducts themselves in an agressive manner during the course. Attendees who are verbally or physically abusive to attendees, instructors or staff will have their course stopped and will leave the training site.
